Shifter Bushing

Well just got home from laying in a parking lot installing a new shifter bushing on my 2012.

This is the second one in just under three years, so i was curious. Is there anything other owners do to avoid these from going bad and failing randomly? Or is there something better than the standard bushings I should be taking a look at?

It’s an easy enough fix when it happens, but just annoying when it happens.
