Can the BSAA (Resident Evil) contain a Crossed Virus outbreak?

​The Connections happen to accidentally engineer a 1-to-1 recreation of the Crossed Virus (minus the supernatural elements), which then breaks out of one of their secret labs in NYC. It infects 1% of the city's population and is rapidly growing. The BSAA North American Branch is immediately deployed to contain the outbreak.

• ​This scenario is set in the modern Resident Evil timeline, sometime after the canon ending of Resident Evil Requiem.
• ​The BSAA has basic knowledge of the virus and is deployed on day one of the outbreak.
• ​The BSAA has to contain the virus by any means necessary, with the destruction of NYC as an absolute last resort.
