First car for high school

Looking for a first car for my kid. A few requirements:

- top ratings for safety
- must be able to carry significant sports equipment
- reliability better than the average
- less than 50k miles
- priced less than $30k (less than $25k is ideal)

Looking at XC60, XC40, Grand Cherokee, QX50,
Tiguan, GV70.

Am I missing anything? Thoughts on the list above?

And yes - I know it’s a lot of money for a first car.
