Cloned Plates - VIC

Hi, looking to get some advice on what I can do about my plates being cloned??

Basically I owned this scooter in 2025, registered it then a few months later decided it wasn't for me so I then sold that scooter, chopped the plates up and then cancelled the registration through VicRoads.

Months later I started receiving toll invoices from Linkt that were linked to this number plate. Crazy since it's a 50cc scooter that can barely go 25kmph, so I'm assuming someone has copied my plates and is driving around with them on.

I've called Vicroads and Linkt saying that I canceled the rego but since it was in my name last the invoices are linked to me and will continue to come my way. I've submitted my second appeal to Linkt today to hopefully get them to remove my name from the license plate. But it seems like they keep pointing the finger at each other saying that they can't do anything about it. Which they definitely can, they just want someone to charge the invoice to.

Linkt said they can't waive anymore of the invoices so hopefully with this last request I've sent that they remove my name from it.

I have also reported this to the police.

Otherwise I don't know what to do.
