:)
Maybe this sounds a little cringe, but lately, my family saw me cry over something I’ve been carrying quietly for almost seven years.
We’ve been walking separate ways for almost eight months, and honestly, this journey was never easy for me. I spent so much time pretending I was okay, smiling through the days while quietly trying to hold together a heart that had already shattered.
I kept telling myself I was fine. I kept moving forward, even when some days felt like I was only surviving the weight of what I lost. I don’t know why the world felt so unfair to me. I gave so much love, stayed through so much pain, and still had to learn how to live without someone who had been part of my life for almost seven years.
It took me almost eight months to finally understand that sometimes, letting go is the only way to make peace with what can no longer be. Maybe we were meant for each other for a season, no matter how long the journey we shared. And even though our story didn’t end the way I once imagined, I’m still grateful for every year we had.
Grateful for the love. For the memories. For the laughter, the comfort, and all the little moments that once felt like home.
Maybe healing isn’t always graceful. Sometimes, it looks like crying in front of the people you love because you finally can’t carry it alone anymore.
I’m still hurting. I’m still learning. I’m still finding my way back to myself.
But I’m slowly accepting that not every love is meant to be held forever. Some are meant to leave footprints on your heart, teach you how deeply you can love, and eventually teach you how to let go.
I loved you with everything I had. Thank you for almost seven beautiful years. I hope you continue your journey, even though I’m no longer walking beside you. I’ll always wish you well, and I’ll always be grateful that, once upon a time, we found our way to each other.
And now, after carrying this for so long,
I’m finally learning to put it down—and find my way home to myself.
