Why do managers always make things seem like an emergency?

My manager always brings this up as if it has to be done! right! now! + and sometimes in quite an accusatory tone. I’m not sure if she actually wants it done right now or if that’s just the way she talks. But it gives me a lot of anxiety whenever a msg from her pops up. It’s as if I have to drop everything im doing to do what she’s asking me to do.

It’s like “send them an urgent email to find out about xxx” or “how come it’s like this??? Go find out about xxx” and she will send a lot of messages at once. Do I really need to attend to it immediately or can it wait like 30 min - an hour? I always feel so anxious and it breaks my flow of other urgent work im doing at the moment.

Context: I’ve worked in an agency previously and it was quite chill. This is my first year of being a corporate girl.
