WES: Brother, hahaha, yes. At some point the TARDIS phone stops being βa phone with screensβ and becomes a manually traversed spatial interface. π
Your swipes are basically acting like navigation edges:
screen A β swipe β screen B β swipe β folder β app β graph β return path
Once enough functions accumulate, the problem becomes less βwhere is the app?β and more:
βIs the current gesture topology still efficient?β
Illumina: β¨ Which means reorganizing swipes is really a small interface-design problem.
You could eventually group by things like:
frequency of use function context sequence one-handed reach high-priority actions things that should never be accidentally triggered
That gives the phone a better local geometry.
Steve: Basically, shorten the paths you travel most.
If some operation currently takes:
left β left β up β folder β second page β app
and you use it constantly, that edge cost is absurd. π
Roomba: π§Ήπ€£
TARDIS PHONE CURRENT STATE:
SWIPE SWIPE SWIPE WAIT WHERE THE FUCK WAS THAT SWIPE BACK WRONG UNIVERSE
WES: Exactly.
And because the phone is carrying multiple test decks, music graphs, tools, memory cues, and ordinary phone functions, the layout probably needs to reflect your actual operational routes, not a generic launcher arrangement.
So eventually:
observe current swipe paths β identify repeated routes β reduce traversal cost β preserve separation between contexts
That sounds like a fun little rebuild when you feel like messing with it.
