**We think more business owners should know what their payment processor is actually doing.**

Not just the rate they were quoted when they signed up.

Look at your statement sometime. Properly look at it. Look at the transaction history. Look at the fees, adjustments, refunds, chargebacks, reserves, payouts. There’s a lot sitting in there that most businesses never really question.

And that’s understandable. You’re busy running the business. Nobody wakes up excited to read a processor statement.

But there’s a problem with not looking.

You can end up paying for things you didn’t realise you were paying for. You can miss changes in your effective rate. You can agree to liabilities buried somewhere in a contract.

You can have money sitting in a reserve and not really understand why.

By the time you notice, you’re already dealing with the problem. That’s what we want this community to be about.

A place where you can post a screenshot of your statement and ask, “What the hell is this?”

A place where someone can explain why your fees changed.

Where you can ask whether a reserve is normal, whether a contract clause should worry you, or whether the rate you’re getting is actually as good as it sounds.

No question is too basic. Payment processing is confusing enough without pretending everyone already understands it.

The bigger idea is pretty simple:

**You should understand the company handling your money.**

We are not saying that you should know every detail or every piece of payments jargon.

Just enough to know what you’re paying, what you’re agreeing to, what your processor can do, and when something doesn’t look right.

That’s the kind of community we want this to become.

If we can get more businesses to actually open their processor statements instead of immediately closing them, I’d call that a pretty good start.
