9/11: Four Flights documentary

We watched this documentary last night. It is from 2021 but I have never seen it.

I think what was so striking to me was the number of stories I hadn’t heard regarding the coincidences of victims. I had heard about a few but there are so many I hadn’t known about.

Like:

1. Richard Ross and Stacey Sanders. He was on Flight 11 and she worked on the 96th floor of the North tower.
   Stacey was Richard’s daughter’s best friend. Flight 11 carrying Richard crashed almost directly through Stacey’s floor.

2. Navy Chief Petty Officer Bernard Brown Sr. took the day off from his office at the Pentagon to see his 11 year old son “Little Bernard” off on a school trip to California. His flight was Flight 77 and it crashed directly into Wedge One, which is the section of Brown Sr.’s office.

3. William Caswell was a civilian contractor who worked as a physicist for the Navy and frequently worked at an office in the Pentagon. His wife Jean was initially relieved because she knew Bill had a meeting scheduled in the Pentagon that day but he had left on a trip that morning and was not going to be attending the meeting.
   He had boarded Flight 77 to begin his trip.

4. Of course the Ron Clifford story of him helping Jennieann Maffeo when Flight 175 hit the South tower. His sister and 4 year old niece were in that plane.

These things I just cannot fathom. How crazy and random it can all be.

Are there other wild coincidental occurrences? I’m always so fascinated by the interconnectedness of these things. And the more I read and find out, the more abundant they become.
