Am I reading too much into this situation?

Random Question

I’m looking for some outside opinions because I’m not sure how to interpret this situation.
A woman I used to have a complicated relationship with is married and has a 5-year-old child. We’ve had sex twice in the past. About 3 months ago, I told her not to call or text me again, so I stopped contacting her.
Yesterday, despite that, she called me. We mostly just talked and she was complaining about people in her life. At one point she said she “needs attention like a child.” I asked her why she doesn’t try talking to other guys, and she said that other men want attention from her “like a child wants from their mother.”
Interestingly, she used to tell me that I wanted attention from her in the same way.
I’m not trying to diagnose her or figure out what’s wrong with her. I’m just wondering what people think: Why would someone contact you again after you explicitly told them not to? Could she miss the connection/sex, or is she simply looking for someone to talk to and get attention from?
What would you do in this situation? Would you ignore her, remain friendly but keep boundaries, or have a conversation about why she contacted you?
