Political Discourse

Has anyone else noticed that when you try to discuss politics with someone on the left like old friends or family members, they never want to discuss policies. All that they will bring to the discussion is Ad-Hominem attacks against the people (Trump, or DeSantis for example). There’s never any policy or regulation that is part of it. You can never get them to say what they want exactly. Only things like “so and so is bad, and I’m against bad things”. Or “I want good things, like food and healthcare”. Never how it will be paid for, how much it will cost, and don’t even try to mention regulatory processes. Regulations and rules are always bad, no matter what they are. It will eventually devolve into shrieking if you even try.
