Talk me out of buying a second electric guitar
One of the large chains of music stores in my country opened an online clearance sale with many prodcuts currently being at 30-40% discount. I am tempted to buy my second electric guitar and eyeing a few models that are normally priced at 1000-1200 USD and are now down to ~700. I am not intersted in an acoustic. The items on sale are physically available only in locations far from me so I can't go to the nearest store and try them before buying.
I am 36m, single and have been learning to play the guitar for 9 months (with a solid foundation of chords from a previous attempt several years ago). So far I have been very serious and consistent with the learning process and I believe that I have at least several good years (hopefully a lot more) of picking up the guitar almost every day and enjoying it.
My gear is a Sire Larry Carlton S3 HSS and a Positive Grid Spark 2 amp. Currently I have no aspirations to perform live or create my own music. I believe that a bedroom guitarist like me who owns an HSS strat and a modeling amp generally doesn't really need any additional gear except for ugrading to a higher quality tier, and I feel like this early in my journey I'm way to far from "having earned" the right to a new guitar. However, it turns out that gear aquisition syndrome is a real thing and I am thinking about buying although my logic tells me I dont need it.
So guys, I'd appreciate your help in talking me out it :)
