Voting in November, what if you might move?

Usually vote by mail bc of mobility/health issues. Recently found out I may have to move after before November. I searched online and it seemed like they said address change probably won’t take effect in time and id have to skip voting in November but likely could in spring, from new address. is this how it works? would I be unable to vote?

also I haven’t yet submitted vote by mail should I not - in case the move happens. is process faster or easier as to vote in November from a new ward - if you haven’t registered vote by mail?

any first hand knowledge experience appreciated. tia
