ADHD + chronic illness = too many obstacles!

Seeking Empathy

Bit of a vent, but also would be glad to hear from others with similar struggles.

I have ADHD and also endometriosis and hypermobility. And juggling what exactly is behind each day's obstacles and the different strategies to overcome it is just so much harder!

Sometimes it feels like ADHD is preventing task initiation when actually it's physical fatigue and pain. Sometimes I think I'm too tried to do something but actually it's ADHD paralysis, which requires a different tactic to overcome.

Lately I've been working on a morning routine to get me showering more regularly abd getting the day going more quickly, but today I'm just so sore and tired, and getting in the shower feels impossible. I'll probably feel better mentally if I manage it, but maybe my body is actually telling me I need to lie down and take it easy, and I should listen to that.

Most of the strategies for ADHD I've learnt so help me, but they don't take account for physical barriers to getting things done when you have chronic illness. AHH!
