A few weeks ago I asked about buying this little guy. A lot of you seemed to think it was a good deal, so I ended up buying it. Presenting my 2006 330i Sport 6MT RWD!

I managed to get the seller down in price a bit more and sold my 2013 Civic Si for a decent sum so I have a fair bit of money on the side to help with maintaining this thing. Gonna be comparing this 330i quite a bit to my old car lol.

A friend told me that this car feels better than most modern cars and he honestly was not kidding. The e90 outperforms my 2013 Si in almost every way. It's smoother, has a quieter cabin, is faster, has more torque, more comfortable, has more features, I mean the list goes on.

The only 3 things the Si did better is that it had a reverse camera, had a better feeling shifter, and handled better. But that isn't to say that the e90 doesn't handle well or has a poor shifter. I'm sure that with M3 control arms and bilstein suspension, the e90 will outperform the Si. As for the shifter, I was pretty surprised by it. I've always heard that BMW makes rubbery and poor feeling shifters, but I'd argue that the BMW is at least 8/10ths, or even 9/10ths of the way there to the Si's shifter.

But the e90 is way more fun to shift, with the most notable thing being a major lack in rev hang. Rev hang on Hondas and especially the Si is awful. It was pretty easy to start shifting well in the e90 since it is way more predictable and natural. Combined with the smoother power delivery, I think the 330i is a much better shifting experience overall.

All in all, very excited to keep driving this for years to come. I hope to own this for a long time given it's pretty much the perfect spec, combined with it having low mileage (152k km).
