Is now a good time to get into deltarune?

Okay, so being an avid redditor chud, I've been seeing a lot of deltarune memes and I want to know what all the hype is about. I do have a couple questions though.

Q1. I did do some research and I know that undertale isn't connected to deltarune(yet?), but I haven't played undertale. I have watched playthroughs of all the routes tho(the gameplay isn't really my thing). Will this hinder my experience in any way?

Q2. I've also read something about a second route. How should I go about doing that? Should I play a chapter and then do the second route before moving on to the next? Should I catch up to ch5 and then do the second route? Or Should I just skip it all together?

Q3. Also, is the game at that point yet where I should just wait for the final chapter, instead of having to wait a couple more years?(I don't particularly mind waiting as a kingdom hearts AND ace attorney fan)
