Bill vs Bills. the last 6 years

Podcast

Ever since Bill’s beloved Patriots started their decline, it’s been fascinating to see his obvious homerism blind his ability to predict football seasons. This is especially so with regards to the Bills and Josh Allen. The Bills have an added layer where they have a generational quarterback that ‘threatens’ Bill’s Pats claims with Brady. Even though the two are not even in the same league in terms of playoff success and rings.

I’ve summarized the last 6 years of AFC East predictions from the pod. Enjoy!

2026
Over/Under: 10.5
Bill has them as an under.
Questions: New coach, who knows if he's good
Chicago fans driving DJ Moore to the airport
Overhauled their really crappy D, painted a crappy house another crappy colour.
Josh Allen is a constant 10 wins.
Their roster puts them in fringe playoff territory according to his scoring system.
Patriots have better receivers than them
First five games are really tough
Only play 3 games indoors
Can't afford an injury to Allen or Cooke, whereas I guess every other good team can afford to lose their 2 best players?
New dad, turning 30, maybe he won't run anymore.

2025
Over/Under: 12.5
Bill takes the over! Though Conspiracy Bill thinks that the league stacked the season in the Bill's favor with their cupcake schedule. I'm sure the following year when the Pats are in the same position he will keep this same energy.
Buffalo finishes 12-5 and doesn’t hit Bill's expected over.

2024
Over/Under: 10.5
Bill goes under
Questions: Maybe they just don't have the talent? They were passed by the Jets this year.
Did they miss their window?
The Bills Reddit is telling him that this might be a rebuilding year
Starts incorporating playoff losses into reasons why the Bills won't win as many games as expected.
Buffalo goes 13-4, their best record since the introduction of the 17 game season in 2021. They also won all 8 of their home games.

2023
Over/Under: 10.5
William Simmons goes under. Thinks its a 10-7 or 9-8 team.
Despite being VERY wrong about them in 2022, Bill now REALLY thinks this is all smoke and mirrors (pronounced mares).
Why do they get a free pass? Starts listing off recent playoff losses for some reason, even though this is a regular season exercise. Their schedule is 'really tough' and goes on to mention having to play Tua lol.
Goes through his player value thing and the rest of Allen's team outside of himself he's giving them an 'OK'.
Only way they can get to 11-6 is because its Josh Allen
Buffalo goes 11-6 and hits the over.
This is my favorite year for predictions because in August of the same year, Bill convinced himself (with Kevin Wildes, and to Jacobe's horror) that the Patriots were going to win the AFC East and that the Bills were going to finish last in the division. Bill brings up the draft they just had as one of the most transformative in Patriot's history. Patriots finish the season 4-13 and Belichik leaves.

2022
Over/Under: 11.5
Bill goes way under. Thinks its going to be a 9 win team.
Are we sure Buffalo is this good? Mentions their record last year. Played a bunch of shit quarterbacks. Being treated like they're the 2018 Chiefs.
Sal loves the offense. Trusts McDermott. Thinks they're a 13 win team.
Buffalo goes 13-3 and blasts through the over.

2021
Over/Under: 11
Bill is hitting the over. If buffalo isn't winning 12 games then Allen got hurt. Doesn't love their running backs.
Loves Daboll, says he's ready to be head coach.
Schedule is easy.
Sal calls it! It's a push. Buffalo goes 11-6 and nuke the Patriots in the playoffs, beating them 47-17.
Bill calls the Pats over/under at 9 a joke and says they're going 11-6. They finish 10-7.
