Advice for unwarranted Return

Question

Any advice on how to dispute a buyer making a “item not as described” claim on a return? The buyer’s claim was clearly unwarranted (the buyer claimed that he could not photo match a game used baseball item from the early 2000s which I never stated was photo matched in the auction listing). As a result, I got stuck with both original shipping and return shipping, as well as high dollar insurance that was incurred to ship (which I know I’ll have to eat regardless). I accepted the return given the limited recourse that sellers have in the situation, but I thought I would be able to be refunded for the shipping given the basis for the return being buyers remorse and not an “item not as described” claim. eBay customer support was absolutely worthless, and claimed that since the buyer was in good standing and that since I used the shipping labels to process the shipment and return, they would not refund me for shipping. Isn’t their dispute system supposed to prevent situations like this? There is no reason I should be out of pocket on shipping when the item delivered was exactly as described.
