question about 8-heart events

I've gotten to 8 hearts with March, but I'm not on level 60 in the mines yet. I've kept giving him gifts while I'm grinding in the mines lmao, but I'm worried that if I surpass 8 hearts with him, that'd make me miss the 8-heart event?

Will I still get his 8-heart event even if I get to 10 hearts with him? Like, I don't want to miss any heart events just because I've gotten more hearts :(
