New controller bricked

So I got a ps5 pro in February and I’ve been using the controller that came with it. Today it was plugged in whilst I was using it and it turned off instantly for no reason. I’ve tried every method ie banging it a couple times, reset button and leaving it powered in for over an hour but nothing works. The same thing happened like an hour later on an older controller. Should I just stop using my PlayStation to charge my controllers because I have one controller left and don’t want that one dying aswell.
