ToBe SAID for Mac available on the App Store
I have used it briefly, I couldn't find any problems, the hardware on any recent Mac is definitely strong enough to handle this without hiccups and it appears that the software itself doesn't have some issues that you would expect from early versions.
As known from Android, it is using Pocket TTS and provides voices to the operating system (and as such its accessibility services and to any app that uses system voices).
Currently it is Mac only - as far as I understand the developer hasn't found the way to satisfy the more strict constraints on iOS, but he is still working on that so it may or may not come.
Currently there is the Pro and regular version (separate downloads), regular seems to be completely free but it is lacking some features from Pro (limited number of custom voices and export of audio, per description).
