Go "Infinite RB" in my keeper auction league?
In a 10-team keeper auction league. You can keep up to 3 guys every year. A keeper salary goes up every year by $5. We start 2 QBs. All else pretty normal.
Budget is $200
My keepers this year: Drake Maye for $11, Achane for $16, and Travis Etienne for $6.
For some reason, Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, CMC, Jonathan Taylor, and Derrick Henry are not being kept this year.
All of them could've been kept in the $45-$60 range, which is great value. But they weren't kept, probably because the ESPN auction valuations list those guys in the $50-65 range and guys in our league stick to those valuations, despite our 2-QB format and despite keeper inflation.
Using ElBoberto's custom value sheet, with our current keeper inflation here are the values:
Gibbs $91 / Bijan $83 / CMC $73 / Taylor $70 / D Henry $59
Should I blow my budget to get two of those guys? The highest prices paid last year for non-QBs were $53 to keep Gibbs, $52 Bijan, $51 Barkley, $50 JChase. I have $166 to spend on 13 slots (we do 10 starters, 6 bench). I feel like I should be able to get two of Gibbs/Bijan/CMC/Taylor/Henry for a total of $120-$150.
I'd only be able to start 3 RBs, so I'd probably try to deal Etienne if I land two of those top 5. I have to try this, right? Could a core like this win a title if the rest of my team is dudes I'm going to draft for $1-$2? Feels like a good year to do this based on QB/WR depth.
