I watch horror films all the time. While this year hasn't been my favorite, I was happy with They Will Kill You, Bone Temple, & Send Help(evil dead burn too with a few caveats)... but what's with the nonstop love for Obsession? I felt like it was a 6/10!

Is this film supposed to appeal to gen-z'ers that still are more likely to have crushes?? The premise is good, and it was executed well, but I think lacked a bit of style!! The trope of the girl you didn't view romantically(just friends) secretly wanting you was on full display. It was pretty good, I liked the shot of the girl standing in the living room waiting for Bear to come home. Creepy shot!! Anyways, the acting was good. I somewhat even liked (and hated) Bear to some extent. I think I was sympathetic towards him, despite him being a spineless loser who made selfish decisions throughout the film. I think some of his decisions were because of his nature and mental health... dude needed therapy lmao

Anyways, my point is that this movie was pretty good, I just don't understand why it got such good reviews and everyone is talking about it. The amount of posts i see about this above average film is ridiculous. I feel like it was targeted for a younger crowd possibly? Idk maybe you guys can shed some light...

FYI: I never finished Hokum for some reason, despite liking that actor. He's good at being your average dickhead lol. Also, Backrooms is another I have to watch. I just felt like it was gonna be tense and psychological without a lot going on. I'll have to give it a shot though due to the ratings!
