Electric Grinder recommendation ($250-350ish)
Hello!
Looking for a low/mid tier grinder recommendation. I'm mainly a cold brew drinker (most mornings), and typically like to have an afternoon espresso with my Robot. Sometimes I do pour over with a Chemex, but that's pretty rare.
Right now I have a Baratza Encore (non espresso version) and am happy with the cold brew/pour over grinds I get.
I got a Robot earlier this year and am looking for a grinder less than $350ish that can really help me dial in my shots. For some beans, I can pull great shots, but I'm running into some channelling issues and I think grind consistency is the culprit. I tend to like medium dark/classic espresso profiles instead of lighter/more acidic roasts.
Ideally, I'd love a do-it-all electric grinder due to counter space restrictions, but am open to an espresso-only grinder if it's compact. Not open to manual grinders.
I don't love how plasticky a lot of grinders are. Don't really care about hoppers/grind containers as much, but ideally a grinder would be mostly metal in the grind path.
Obviously the DF54 and DF64 are on my radar, but I've read mixed reviews about clogging, how they handle darker roasts, and unsure how they would handle cold brew.
Thinking maybe the Eureka Mignon Zero 55s for a do-it-all? Or maybe get lucky on an open box on a Zero 65?
If I go dedicated-espresso-grinder, the Lagom Mini 2 seems like something that could potentially be a fit?
Very appreciative for any and all recommendations!
