2023 Passport Key Fob Battery Life - Seven Months?

I bought a CPO 2023 Passport EX-L in February. Love it! I immediately replaced the batteries in the key fobs with brand new CR-2032s. Yesterday, the car door wouldn't open with the Smart Entry System, plus I had to hold the key fob next to the ignition button to start the car. Is this common? The fob battery for my previous car (2008 Acura TL) would last several years, though that technology is ancient in comparison. I currently keep both key fobs in Faraday bags while inside the house. I wonder if that would make a difference.
