I didn’t realise quitting would be so difficult

I tried quitting few weeks back for the first time, and then relapsed. Now I’m thinking about quitting again. But it seems really difficult. Just making this post to analyse the patterns of how it is in my case:

I’m 28F, I’ve been watching for 9 years. I think I got addicted to it because I like the different categories, novelty in finding a good video, and yeah, it just really turns me on. People say women like different types of porn than men, but I think that’s not necessarily true. Our brains work quite similarly.

So anyways, I didn’t feel too guilty watching it before as I knew I needed it to relieve stress, this is the only way I can orgasm. But now that my life has become less stressful, I don’t have that excuse. I want to save up that sexual energy for my relationship, and not dump it masturbating.

Now if I think of quitting, it just occurs to me like I may be missing out (which I know is not true, most of the porn is pretty low quality), or fear losing that exciting little part of my life. But I do know that it’s the rational thing to do.

Porn is said to be not as addictive as other things, but I’m starting to doubt that. It’s actually pretty intense of a drug.
