This is of course a subjective matter, so I can only hope to make you understand where I'm coming from. Simply put, ERAM is almost the equivalent of early Undertale-Fandom Chara in how they're treated. They're the big bad guy who's just one-dimensional evil, and not just that, they're also responsible for that day where they ruined literally everything for everyone. I can understand where this is coming from; we still have very little characterization for ERAM besides sadistic yet playful evil mastermind. That said, this interpretation is just not ideal, and I find the reason both obvious and fascinating. Fandom ERAM ironically leaves us with an antagonist who's frankly put not worth really paying attention to despite all of their significant actions. For Flowey you can see a story that counteracts the message "it's kill or be killed". On the other hand, fandom ERAM is without narrative backbone; they only serve the purpose of advancing the events of the story, the bare minimum of an antagonist. There's no lesson or theme that such a view of ERAM as an antagonist can uniquely provide to the story. To conclude, I think that ERAM as main antagonist only makes them a less interesting character on behalf of their very weak assumed motivations.

Why the Fandom interpretation of ERAM does not work
