I don’t understand the adaptive sound thing

Recently switched from the xm4 to xm6 and I love them. But I really don’t understand what the point of adaptive sound control is if it’s going to make a ding sound every time I sit down or stand back up or move to the kitchen or anything.

Do you usually turn the adaptive sound off or just deal with the random dinging or is there a way to turn the dinging off? Would love to hear how you all use or don’t use this feature.
