Unsure of what to do next.

So right now im currently going through my longest run so far, and the power JUST went out. I have generators set up already. I have several rain collectors full of water. I just made a fire pit. I'm good on those fronts. But now I'm unsure on what to do to solve the long-term food problem, I have plenty of looted food that will last a while, but not forever. In your experience, what the most effective method of gathering/making food?
