Teddy and Isagi are two sides of the same coin
Both of them are so brainwashed it’s hilarious.
Teddy thinks he is a useless puppet, and calls himself useless, mutters that one to infinity stuff to reassure himself. Isagi thinks Ego is the only way, and rejects any other philosophy by lashing out like a child throwing a tantrum to reaffirm himself.
Isagi is also Egos Lap dog as much as Fox is Teddys. He treated Karasu temporarily using Hugo’s system the same way Teddy treated Agi, and Ego backed him up of course. Ego just didn’t sub because Karasus action lead to a goal, but did criticize him heavily.
Both of them lost to France because of the core of their coaches philosophies. England couldn’t grow, and Japan had Rin acting on his ego. Both of their coaches show clear favoritism towards them.
Both coaches forced their philosophy onto their players. Teddy spoke of how they had to survive some sort of special training to be picked. Blue lock program was a form of special training, literally locking young people in a facility.
I’d also point out that the “…” in Isagis speech bubble before he shouts at Teddy is him maybe realizing Teddy might actually be kinda right. Hesitation. And Teddy showing a bit of anger is the mirror of it.
Hopefully Kaneshiro doesn’t phone it in with another Aura farm moment at the end to end the feud between these two. They should both lose in some way, and the winning play should be made by someone who can dance on the borderline of both philosophies (Maybe Kuni?)
