Roaches at work - advice

Hi. I was just told that the mailroom at my work has cockroaches. The mailroom is right beside our office (a large space shared between a bunch of us). It also shares a wall with our storage room. Many packages constantly go in and out of the mailroom and my team gets many deliveries from them, which only adds to my anxiety. We are in a 12-storey building with two underground floors, one of which is where my office and the mailroom are.

As soon as I heard that word associated with my work and in such close proximity, I immediately grew anxious. I dealt with bed bugs last summer for the first time, and though I know they're a lot worse, it was the most stress I've ever gone through in my life. So the last thing I want is to take any of these home with me and create another nightmare situation. We've also just recently moved into an apartment building (was a house before), so that could be even worse if they were to get there.

I'm not in a position of authority so I don't have any direct power to do anything, but do you have any recommendations on what to suggest to my supervisor or manager, or how to go about that? I seem to be the most concerned about it so far... Which doesn't make me feel very good about it either.

Any advice or input that may help me or make me feel a bit less anxious would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
