Robert Pirsig reference?

Just watched Before Sunrise for the first time. Loved it, of course. Wondering if anyone noticed a possible reference to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance when they’re walking into the club? Jesse mentions his feelings about technology and references zen, while a couple people work on motorcycles in the foreground. Haven’t found anything about it online, but wondering if it was a coincidence.
