Want To Switch To ML

Salam everyone I am currently an AI Engineer but I want to make a switch to machine learning like I have always been fascinated with the idea of training models, evaluating models, model benchmarking ... Etc although I have like 1-2 projects in this field but I have never done like an on fields work or neither do I have experience in this field and currently the job market is extremely tough they are not taking entry level jobs at the moment only seniors while also keeping in mind my knowledge in ML is at an surface level so what can I learn and improve to get an ML Role in future Insh'Allah
