What do I do with my lead

Hello, I haven’t played since February and came back feeling pretty good. I only played one game and did pretty well through farming and obtaining souls. What I clearly struggle on is where to go when I am ahead? I feel like I farm too much especially when I have a lead. I just don’t know what to prioritize whether if it’s team-fights, objectives, or applying side-lane pressure. Maybe, it depends on the character? Thanks in advance!
