How long does it take to hear back from Special Issue abstracts?

Hi! I submitted an abstract for a niche call for papers in a special issue of a journal that is quite highly reputed.

In the call for papers, authors of the successful submissions were to be notified by 1st September 2026. I haven't heard back - should I expect a rejection email or to be aired?
