How did it feel waiting for season 7?

I did not watch the last few seasons live so today when I was rewarding the season 6 finale I realized it ends on such a sad hopeless note. Normally, cliff hangers leave you feeling desperate for the next episode. I can’t imagine how it would’ve felt ending on that finale waiting for reason 7.
