Is this recruiter a scam?

Hi, so I have a recruitment interview booked for tommorow. After doing a bit of digging on the company I'm scared that I may be about to walk into a scam.

The company specialises in recruitment for finance sector jobs, they emailed me yesterday saying they'd like to book a screening interview with me. They said it was for "a job in the finance sector" and didn't list what job it applied to or which company.

I did some research into he recruitment company, they say they've placed over 500 people, but I can't find any reviews online, they have a LinkedIn page with 7 followers and only 3 posts, all made in the last week. I searched for their company house on gov UK and I can't find anything. When I looked into their website, it appeared to have only been created in August 2026.

Even the guy I'm interviewing with, I can't find any LinkedIn page for him or any link to this recruitment company. I'm a bit scared to say the company name in case they are a legit buissines and see my reddit post, but everything's pointing to red flags atm.

They do however have a proper buisiness email, and their website seems professional. At face value they seemed legit but after digging I'm just not sure.

The other strange thing is I am not from the finance industry, whilst I'm not against converting, it seems a bit random. But it isn't unbelievable that maybe they found my cv on a database?

But what should my course of action be ? Attend the interview tommorow or just block them and consider it a scam. I'd be happy to provide more info on the company over DM.
