Entry 046 – The Illogical Normal, Part 2
Day 25 — Growth Without Logic (continued)
I went through my stash of resources — nothing seemed suitable for wings.
I shelved the idea and thought of something different.
But I need to experiment with the illogical.
I connected the small display screen I picked up yesterday to a small battery cell with a pair of short refined wires.
The screen started to flash.
Nothing illogical about it. It was pure luck.
Then I placed the new device onto Hop’s body — and fused them together.
Although I wasn’t expecting it to happen, the device began to display a few bars.
Illogical — but that’s normal.
What once seemed too small looked so fitting now.
And now I think Hop has a battery gauge.
If logic no longer works here, the only way to survive is to embrace the illogic.
Bend with it. Let it fold around me.
From the top of the Heap, I’d once seen four separate riverbanks.
I don’t know what’s on them — but maybe now’s the time to find out.
I packed what I needed: essentials, tools, Hop’s pouch.
The patrols were already out, the usual constructs pacing the open ground between me and the Heap.
One stopped. Looked straight at me.
It rattled.
It took me a second to realize why.
The armor.
I stilled my steps, thought briefly, and let it vanish.
The rattling stopped.
So did the tension.
The path forward felt… open again.
"When reason ends, instinct remembers the way forward."
