The Arulien Compact has had a rather tumultuous and bloody rise from the ashes of The War of Divine Blood. Going from revolutionaries going against elvish rule to a bloody military dictatorship fighting one last grand conquest on the dying world of Rostavien. How did this change and how did this man, who is certainty not a lich whom humans have feared returning for centuries thinking they would bring ruin to civilization, rise to power and come to be what he is today.

Well it depends on what story you wish to believe. if you were to listen tbe story the Compact tells Wenvik Voss was once a common man, a farmer pushed to fight for the liberation of humans after the cruelty of the elves before the he would receive a message from a dying god during the War of Divine Blood telling him who was truely at fault for the suffering of the people. He has now led humanity to its highest glory and will continue to do so with an army of pure human ingenuity which magic is no match for!

But that is the real story for Wenrick Voss is not their name, but one simply of the thousands he’s had over countless lifetimes living the lives of kings and queens, Nobel knights and dastardly brigands. But that all started with the god of death, creator of humanity, gifting to his priests a sliver of immortality. These men would and could live forever but well eternity takes it’s toll watching your loved ones die as and you loose all the little joys of human life. Most went mad and tried to destroy humanity raising armies of spectators torn from Shadevelium. They were stopped by human heroes and the timely intervention of the infernals.

They were thought to be dead but it traumatized humanity so much that even to the modern day they swear off their innate necromantic powers. The fear too has lingered that the liches one day return to bring ruin to them. Funnily enough they would be right for a lich has brought the to ruin. This lich, the modern day Wenrick Voss, has kept his sanity one single factor, purpose. His purpose is to make humans the greatest power in the world no matter the cost. Every life he lives is a human soul he plucks from Shadevelium and devours to steal how they looked in life. Every life forwards his goal weather a ruler to organize and empower the humans, a bandit who kills, loots, and pillages until the wishes of a previous life for organization of military are honored.

Wenrick Voss has been by far been one of if not his most proactive body as he’s entered his end gane. That, well, started as the eradication of magic. All magic. That was until he learned he needed magic to help protect against things like the angels or the Sudden Dark. now plans have changed to enslaving mages and elves for his purposes even going to far to actively hire and recruit mages locked up for the worst of the worse crimes most of whom are rather powerful and want to go stick it to their own people before the world ends.

That is humanities leader! If you have any questions at all do ask!

Are we the baddies?
