Loving the Captain's Caliber

Mail Call

First off, I do not like neutral throwing putters at all. I tried them all and didn't like any of them. I bag a Luna, and I'll use it if the shot absolutely demands it. Until now, the only throwing putter I liked was the AviarX3, and I've been bagging them for a couple years now. I grabbed the Captain's Caliber because it sounded like Discraft's take on my favorite putter, and it's everything I could have asked for.

The Captain's Caliber looks and feels a lot like an Envy, but don't let that fool you. I was actually worried at first because I do not like the Envy, but this disc makes the Envy look super flippy by comparison. Also, the Jawbreaker Z plastic feels amazing and looks awesome.

Discraft gave it 4/4/0/2 for the flight numbers, but it's 100% a 3 speed. I would personally give it 3/4/03. It's just as (if not more) overstable as a premium AviarX3, but it's not as chunky and it likes to stay in the air way longer.

I can rip on this thing and push it close to 300ft without the slightest hint of turn or flip up. The higher glide compared to other overstable putters gives the Captain's Caliber a really deep fade and lets it take anhyzer lines without stalling out as easily. Awesome disc for drilling through low ceiling wooded fairways. It can totally handle forehand as well, but I still prefer the faster rim on my Zone for those shots.

I feel like this release has kinda flown under the radar, but I definitely recommend checking it out if you prefer overstable putters.
