DTW base for Delta

I'm considering applying to Delta since I live pretty close to DTW. I'd be willing to relocate temporarily if DTW wasn't offered, but would like to be able to transfer to DTW within a year or so. Reading the previous posts here, it seems like DTW is a junior based and is often offered to new hires. If it wasn't offered in my training class, does anyone have a sense of how long it would be before I could transfer to DTW?
