name pronunciation

 Discussion

as a person named elian, my family is hispanic so obviously they would say it in spanish so it sounds amazing. but when it comes to english, it’s always been said as “eh-lee-ahn (on)” in my family and circle… but i find my teachers automatically going into a “eh—lee—in” pronunciation. it’s confusing like am i wrong and my family wrong or? i swear it’s always been eh-lee-ahn (on) for me and it 100% sounds better. 🙂‍↕️
