I spend quite a lot of time playing local games against the BOT players. My own thoughts on practice are that to improve you need to play against the best player you can... whilst also having a competitive chance.

I am not a bad darts player and I use a particular process to select my level of play. If I win three times in a row against the BOT level I go up a level. And if I lose three times in a row I go down a level. I also play long format games... I find this is good for ' stamina ' and improving over longer spells of play.

I am not very interested in practice over 3 or 4 legs... it needs to be twenty or more. I am also not interested in playing online games. I have tried it, but it can be a toxic environment and with issues of honesty and 'name shaming'... i can't be arsed with that. It also doesn't suit my preferences of long length gameplay.

My current form finds me on level 16. Typically most games at level 15 and 16 go quite close... 15-12 for example... one way... or the other.

The problem i have is the BOT player algorithm can be pretty rubbish. Almost all the time at this level the computer hits a 180 or 140 off, and then follows it with something 💩 like 26 or 45. Then quite often when it gets down to a finish of 150 or so, it will often hit two big trebles... and then miss 4 or 5 darts at double. The BOT scores are up and down ...rather than consistent scoring.

Ultimately it usually has an overall average at the end of the game within it's bounds, but I am sure the Target software team can do a better job of the player scores to give a more stable performance than the extremities of scoring that is currently has !

In these days and the power of AI, some better BOT player algorithms would be much appreciated !

Bot player algorithm still needs more work...
