Dumper regret
I (28f) broke things off my my boyfriend (31m) a week ago. We've been drifting apart for a while. Not engaging in activities together or planning for the future. I tried to tell him that I wanted to move since im miserable in the city that we are in. I present him with many travel ideas to go on adventure with him. Tried to tell him what I like and didnt like about the relationship so he could do the same and we could work on that. I propose we do some counselling to talk about or relationship. That lasted for 4 months. I gave him two more weeks and i told him I wanted for him to think about the relationship so we could talk about it when I come back. He didnt. For that past weeks we've been trying to breakup. The bond is strong between us after 5 years together. At one point he realised he was losing me so he made a big speech about how he realized how closed up he was and how he didnt realized how hurt I was. He basically told me all the things I wished to hear for years : lets plan big trips together, have kids, move in another town. Even tho part of me was happy with what he was saying, i was also so mad that i had to ruin my mental health and almost breakup in order to hear that. It made me realized I couldnt do it anymore and I broke up. Now its been a week. We dont really talk but I know hes really affected by all this and feel very guilty. I know I wasnt perfect and was probably pushing him to much and other thibgs. I am just so sad too as I realized now how much I love him and how much we let our selves drift apart. I want to have proof he can change if we ever get back together ... anyways I feel like i just regret my decision right now and i dont know how to deal with that pain .... any advices ?
