Talk me down (or don’t?)
I am 32F and have been having occasional, shooting pain in the outer side of my left breast for a few weeks. I haven’t been able to feel a lump in most positions since I have large and dense breasts, but today as I was laying on my right side, there it was. Definitively a lump, the first I’ve ever had so extremely jarring. I’m having a hard time estimating size, but it wasn’t small. Maybe the diameter of a nickel or quarter? I have no idea.
First and foremost, I’m hoping for a clearer picture of the likelihood of this being cancer. Beyond that, I would love some advice on getting healthcare appointments knocked out as quickly as possible. Should I see my PCP first for a referral? Would an NP give me a referral on a virtual appointment? Give me all your anecdotal wisdom on getting through the door, and what kinds of appointments/exams I should insist on.
Thanks. 🩷
