New NID/Voter Registration in Chattogram, Do I really need ALL these documents?
Hi everyone, I’m trying to register as a new voter/NID holder in Chattogram City and I’m a bit confused about the documents required.
I was given this list by the Election Commission office, and honestly, it seems like a lot of paperwork. I’ve attached a photo of the list.
My main questions are:
Do I actually need every single document on this list? Or are some only required in specific cases?
One of the requirements seems to involve a chacha/uncle or other relative as an identifier. I don’t have a chacha, and getting certain relatives' NID/signature is also difficult. What do people do in this situation?
It also mentions getting verification/certification from the Mayor/Councillor/Ward Commissioner. If you're in Chattogram City, how exactly do you approach them? Do I need to physically go to the ward councillor's office?
Has anyone recently (2025–2026) completed a new NID registration in Chattogram? What documents did you actually submit?
Did the Election Office really ask for all of these documents, or did they accept the basic ones like birth certificate + parents' NID + educational certificate + address/citizenship proof?
If you had a similar problem with not having a relative available for identification, how did you solve it?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually gone through the process recently, especially in Chattogram City, rather than older information from 5–10 years ago.
