Why people think Hatemonger is gay?

Without the joke, why everyone (I mean in this sub) thinks Hatemonger is gay? In SK1 it is played as a joke, because he hates aliens. But in SK3 when Captain implied what Hatemonger was doing - in the end we hear Bryce thought, that it was he who used Hatemonger's computer to watch gay stuff. Logically it makes Bryce gay, not Hatemonger.

Unless I misunderstand some meta here.
