From Domestic Violence to 'Accident': What Happened to Maddison Whitbread?
I'm reaching out with a situation that warrants closer examination. I know the BF and I truly feel he has gotten away with murder at this point. This is some of the information I have gathered, all from public records. Does this feel "off" to anyone else? How Did This Get Ruled a Suicide?
Maddison Summer Whitbread (20) passed away August 6, 2023 in what was ruled a suicide after three years. However, multiple witnesses—including neighbors and friends—observed her boyfriend physically assaulting her in the months prior. Following her death, the boyfriend was involved in an "accident," and the case was allegedly closed as a suicide despite significant concerns from her family and friends.

- Boyfriend has a history of DUI, assault, aggressive behavior
- I witnessed him threatening neighbors with a firearm with Maddison present at the scene May 17, 2023 (let go with warning after neighbor did not wish to press charges? in Genesee Twp MI/Flint I don't get how that can even be allowed)
- The deceased had no known suicidal ideation
- She maintained an active social media presence (TikTok account with her twin sister) suggesting normal engagement with life
- Three-year delay before suicide ruling raises questions
- BF left the scene of the "accident/suicide" on 07/14/2023 where he totaled his truck that was returned to him 4/20/2026 after the investigation
Maddison Summer Whitbread
Born on May 29, 2002, Maddison was remembered by her family as authentic, bold, compassionate, headstrong, and funny. She was described as a radiant presence who loved living in the moment and trying to make sure everyone around her got along.
Maddison was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and granddaughter. Notably, she was a twin and shared a uniquely tight, unbreakable bond with her sister, MaKenna.
Her visitation and final procession took place through the Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan, leading to a service at Lakeside Cemetery.
