Buying gear on ebay

Hi all,

Im looking for advice in regards to actually getting my first (technically second) camera. I've had a dslr in the past but I'm now looking at upping the game to the R7 and a telephoto lens for wildlife.

Since the official canon store is currently out of stock on the R7 body, I was thinking about buying from ebay but I'm worried because its such a big purchase that this might be a mistake? I've noticed buying from other retailers is sometimes saving £200+ on the body alone but I'm a worrier and am wondering what the catch could be? I know people have recommended to buy secondhand but with the amount that is actually being saved, I might as well get the body new with warranty?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I know what I want, I just need a bit of reassurance!
