Are pedophiles brains wired differently?

I’ve always wondered this. Is it like they chose to be attracted to children? Or is their brain just fucked and there’s nothing they can do to stop the attraction?

The reason I thought of this is bcus I saw a Twitter post that was like “Everyday I’m thankful that my brain isn’t like ‘We’re attracted to kids and it ain’t shit you can do about it’”

This is not me trying to make “excuses” for them btw, I’m just genuinely wondering.
